Carly was a 16-year-old girl living in a small apartment with her mom, Dina, and grandmother, Holly. Even though they faced financial struggles, their love kept them strong. Carly had always dreamed of going to prom in a beautiful dress, but she never thought her family could afford it.
One morning, everything changed. Dina and Holly surprised Carly by revealing they had saved enough money for her to buy her dream dress. They handed her an envelope filled with cash, and Carly was overwhelmed with gratitude and excitement. She felt like the luckiest girl in the world as she headed to the dress shop.
On her way there, Carly took the bus and found herself daydreaming about prom night. Then she noticed a nervous man at the back of the bus, looking shabby and anxious. Though she was curious, she quickly returned to her happy thoughts.
But when the bus workers started checking tickets, the man panicked. He explained he had forgotten his wallet while rushing to see his sick daughter. The workers were harsh, threatening to fine him if he couldn’t pay right away. Carly’s heart went out to him. Without thinking twice, she approached the workers and offered her dress money to help him out. The man, named Rick, was stunned and repeatedly thanked her before hurrying off the bus to be with his daughter.
Feeling a mix of emotions, Carly walked home without her money, hoping she had made the right choice. When she arrived, Dina was upset, worried Carly had been taken advantage of. But Holly comforted her, reminding her that helping others is always the right thing to do.
As prom night drew closer, Carly ended up wearing an old, plain dress. Surrounded by friends in gorgeous gowns, she felt out of place and sat near the entrance, unsure if she even belonged there.
Then, out of nowhere, Rick appeared, holding his now-healthy daughter, Haley. He introduced Haley to Carly and handed her a beautifully wrapped gift. Inside was a stunning prom dress! Overwhelmed with gratitude, Carly thanked Rick, who said this was his way of repaying her kindness.
