President Donald Trump highlighted the outstanding work of the FBI in a recent Truth Social post, commending the agency for its remarkable achievements in arresting thousands of dangerous suspects and dismantling criminal networks across the United States. The president expressed strong support for the bureau’s ongoing mission to restore safety throughout the nation.
In his message dated October 20, Trump shared impressive statistics that demonstrate the scale of these law enforcement successes. “Since January 20th, more than 28,000 Violent Criminals have been arrested (RECORD BREAKING!), with over 6,000 illegal weapons seized, more than 1,700 child predators and 300 human traffickers taken off the streets, 5,000 innocent children rescued, 2,000 Criminal Enterprises disrupted, 1,900 kilos of Fentanyl (Enough to kill 125 Million people!) taken out—HISTORIC RESULTS,” the president wrote.
He continued by recognizing the leadership and dedication within the bureau: “We are bringing LAW AND ORDER back to America. Kash, Dan, Andrew, and the men and women of the FBI, are doing a tremendous job, MAKING AMERICA SAFE AGAIN!”
The president was referring to FBI Director Kash Patel, Deputy Director Dan Bongino, and Co–Deputy Director Andrew Bailey, who have guided the agency through this intensive period of activity.
A major driver behind these results has been Operation Summer Heat, a comprehensive nationwide campaign that operated from June through September. The initiative concentrated resources on locating and apprehending individuals responsible for violent crimes in communities throughout the country.
During the same period, President Trump and Director Patel announced that Operation Summer Heat alone contributed to the arrest of more than 8,700 violent offenders in key metropolitan areas. They reported that approximately 11,000 suspects wanted for homicide were taken into custody, with about half of them linked to multiple killings.
Several cities experienced dramatic increases in the removal of high-threat individuals from their streets. Locations such as Nashville and New Orleans saw arrest numbers for the most dangerous offenders rise by as much as 250 percent compared to previous periods.
On a national level, violent crime decreased by 20 percent when measured against the same months in 2024. President Trump described the summer season as the safest and most peaceful in twenty years.
The president emphasized that significant challenges remain ahead. He explained that the FBI continues to collaborate closely with the Department of Justice, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Department of War to maintain law and order, combat violent crime, apprehend criminal aliens, and transform American cities into some of the safest urban environments on earth.
He stated clearly that every American family deserves neighborhoods free from fear of violent attacks, robbery, assault, or other serious crimes, and affirmed that delivering that reality stands as a top priority for his administration.
Democratic leaders have expressed reservations about certain aspects of the administration’s approach to public safety in major urban centers. In October, a group of Democratic senators released a joint statement raising questions about the use of National Guard units in several cities across the country.
The statement, coordinated through the office of Senator Alex Padilla (D-Calif.), described the deployments as exceeding proper executive authority and voiced concern that such actions could expand presidential power in ways that affect constitutional balance.
The senators argued that claims of widespread disorder were being used to support military-style presence in cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, and Portland, while simultaneously noting reductions in federal funding that supports local police departments.
At the same time, the administration maintains focus on immigration enforcement as a critical element of overall public safety. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem shared on October 20 that dedicated operations have led to the arrest of more than 480,000 criminal noncitizens during the first nine months of the year.
Secretary Noem reported that approximately 70 percent of those detained possess prior criminal convictions or face active charges. She praised the dedication of law enforcement personnel, calling their accomplishments under President Trump’s leadership extraordinary.
In a related development, the Department of Homeland Security introduced Operation River Wall, a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening security along the Rio Grande corridor. The operation seeks to reduce illegal border crossings, interrupt the flow of narcotics, and counter other transnational criminal activities in the southern border region.
Through coordinated efforts involving multiple agencies and innovative operational strategies, the administration continues working to protect communities, uphold the rule of law, and create safer environments for families in every corner of the United States. The combination of targeted enforcement campaigns, enhanced inter-agency cooperation, and strong leadership has produced measurable improvements in public safety metrics nationwide.
